December meet-up in Odense

Following up on the previous post regarding the meetup in Odense (that came out a bit formal, didn't it? LOL)

It looks as if the 4-5th of December is a definite go. Considering 7 people voted in the poll and those dates now say 100% \0/

Again, I can't stress this enough, this is not a closed off meeting limited to the peeps who were here last time or have taken part in the poll regarding the dates. If you want to take part, let me know, if you want to stay over, let me know, if you can swing one day with us and want to, LET ME KNOW - damn it guys, the more the merrier! And you don't HAVE to be Danish to take part, either, please don't let it stop you from considering taking part!

General stuff on the arrival etc:

So far my boss is a bit wishy washy on letting me off on the Friday (3rd) but at any rate, I'll be home from work no later than 4 in the afternoon. This means, if any of you lovely people want to come over on the Friday night, fell free to let me know.

Those who need my address, let me know, talk amongst yourselves if you're arriving around the same time - I'll either meet you at the train station and take the bus with you, or make sure you get on the right one and meet you at the bus stop (it's on the other side of the building where I live, so not much walking to do).

Heck, if any of you are driving, car pool would be a brilliant idea, eh? I mean, if you're coming from the same direction *grins*

So far I've got two mattresses and one foldout sofa, but we'll swing more places to sleep when I know how many of you are staying over. I'll merely need you guys to bring bedding or sleeping bag or some such.

The actual weekend

Now, everything's pretty open at the moment, but [personal profile] noracharles and I were talking about [personal profile] blnchflr's suggestions from the previous post on doing parcel games. As it seems Nora has a rather traumatized view on the way I'm used to playing it (I'm a competitive arsehole, she's not *sniggers*), I'll set about tweaking the gameplay to suit a more docile and mixed flock of players.

As for 'parcels'/gifts, we talked about everyone bringing something fannish - her suggestion was those of us who have time for it doing up to 7 contributions of some sort. It can be drabbles, recs lists, vids if you feeling adventerous, IOUs on website/journal layouts, manips (IOUs or finished products) anything really, something that you feel you can easily contribute with. How do you guys feel about something like that? Alternative is brining something retail bought (it's still allowed to find something that reminds you of something fannish, like a dragon for Merlin or something similar, but considering you all have travel expenses coming over, we figured it'd be cheaper to create the gifts) NO PRESSURE - if you feel it's too hard to do, this is why we talked about up to 7 contributions from those who have the time. We'd have some parcels to pass around the table.

Is that too insane or does it sound like fun? ( I can't tell right now, I've had so much coffee that any and everything sounds like a hysterically funny and awesome idea)

Of course, as last time, bring 'stuff' in the guise of vids you think we HAVE to watch (regardless of fandom, we had fun watching stuff last time that not all of us were familiar with). Fic you think we should read, movies you think we should watch etc. We might not get around to doing it all but we'll give it a good go!

We don't have to be cooped up all day, either, if any of you want to go for a run, there's pathways all over the place here - along the stream as well and we'll need some fresh air at some point. Any suggestions to stuff we can do are more than welcome, just mention it in good time if it preperations of any sort are neccessary ^_^

I want to go! So bad! And I will. But I get my assignment for a ten-day exam paper on that Friday morning. I will probably be extra fun on account of being deep in denial! XD

I am slightly daunted by the fannish presents, but I will do my best. Hmm... I think I'll set up a poll to get a feel for where people are, fannishly. I don't know everybody, and it would be nice to know not to spend an evening creating a miniature stargate if nobody's rabid about it XD (that was an example! I am not crafting anything! I think...)

Alright to bring vids in form of files? I'll try really hard to remember to bring my thumb drive, but I'll probably bring my laptop either way. I'll bring the new Sherlock for sure.

Is anybody heading to Fyn via Ã…rhus?

LOL, yeah, it would be a sad waste of awesome if you brought a miniature stargate to a meeting of people who only like Sons of Anarchy :-)

I look forward to meeting you in real life!

Hee, indeed! Ooh! I might have to acquire some dvds for easy pimping purposes *rubs hands*

I look forward to it, too! Argh, I am going to be pining on the 23rd when you're all in Copenhagen and I'm working on my 7th (of 8!) hand-in this month ;_;

Fannish products sounds like fun, if you're the fannish producer-type, which I'm not - I know you'll say I can contribute recs or whatever, but I would feel very much not on par with the rest of you and uncomfortable participating. Hm, I'll have to think on it - I TOTALLY AND UTTERLY don't mind that the rest of you do this, I do think it sounds like fun and I'd have fun watching you have fun, for realz!!

As it seems Nora has a rather traumatized view on the way I'm used to playing it (I'm a competitive arsehole, she's not *sniggers*), I'll set about tweaking the gameplay to suit a more docile and mixed flock of players.
Lol, is this the question of whether you can only trade parcels or whether you hoard all you can :o) ? We played this at my workplace in Greenland, and someone asked whether we were doing the trading-only version, and someone else immediately cried, "No, this damn well isn't a Communist kindergarden!", and that was that - I had the distinct feeling most people would have preferred to play the trading-only version, but where too afraid to say :o)

I'd like to sleep over - will bring own bedding.

I'll probably bring Big Eden, unless too many of you have seen it by then.

I couldn't do recs lists, anyways, because I've only read what everyone else has already read - I never go looking for hidden gems, new authors and such. Anyways, will give it a think.

If everyone else is in favour of fannish parcels, seriously, do it - that'd be to fun to pass up on!

I really do think it could be awesome, but I'm still feeling stomped -- both for time and ideas... If people want to suggest something very specific, I'd be better able to say whether I'm up for it or not.
